2023 Iconic Awards

October 1, 2023, Telecast, Inc. celebrated its third annual Stomp the City Iconic Awards Show. It was an unforgettable night of entertainment, inspiration, celebration, and recognition of the most talented and prestigious individuals.

The Award Show was hosted by Lisa Raye McCoy and her co-host, Darrin Dewitt Henson. Lisa Raye McCoy is an actress, fashion designer, model, and businesswoman. She is known for her roles in Cocktails with Queens, Single Ladies, All Of Us, The Players Club, and many more. Darrin D. Henson is a man with many talents. Not only is he an actor and choreographer, but he is also a renowned published author.

Michael Dockery, the President of Telecast Media Group, united with his celebrity friends to bring awareness to reducing the issue of gun violence and domestic violence and to create a positive impact in the communities. Stomp the City Iconic Awards not only honors the entertainers but highlights the need for gun reform.

The 2023 Iconic Awards recognized individuals who have made a poignant contribution to the community through their work, art, and social activism. The honorees included recording artists, film, TV, comedy, sports, and philanthropy. A stellar lineup of entertainers and honorees graced the stage. With stunning performances by KEM, Keith Robinson, Levelle, Kut Klose, Omar Wilson, Gary “Lil G” Jenkins, Evvie McKinney, Kevin Davidson, NLE Choppa, and many more.

Several prestigious awards were presented. KEM was honored with The Man of the Year Award. The Stomp the City Iconic Awards was about “The Family Business.” Appearance by Clifton Powell, actor Arrington Foster was honored with The Best Supporting Cast award. Actors Miguel Nunez and Kim Coles were honored with the prestigious Silver Screen Award. As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, Doug E. Fresh graced the City of Memphis with his presence and received the Hip-Hop Legacy Award. Memphis own NLE Choppa received the Hip-Hop of the Year Award.

Other distinguished honorees include Dr. Bobby Jones, who received The Lifetime Achievement Awardfor his work as a gospel music singer and television host.

Melvia Chick Rodgers Beale St. Blues Award. Charles Simms Public Service Award. Comedian Uncle Daddy, who has taken social media by storm, received the Funny Bone Award. The Humanitarian Award to Lori Swanigan, CEO of the Benefits Solutions Group, an advocacy collective for senior citizens. The Breakout Artist of the Year went to recording artist Sett.
